Service Description
Our much loved Intro to Sewing Machines workshop, but with a Christmassy twist! Come and learn all about how to get the most out of your sewing machine, and make yourself a lovely little stocking to take away and hang by the fire. We will cover: 🎄Filling bobbins and threading up 🎄Understanding and balancing thread tensions 🎄Correct needle and thread selection 🎄Length, width and pattern selectors 🎄How to sew accurately and stay straight 🎄Using the footplate guidelines 🎄Backtacking to secure seams 🎄How to avoid tangles and skipped stitches 🎄Trouble shooting and machine maintenance You can bring your own machine, or use a studio one if you prefer. The workshop takes place on a Saturday morning, and will be accompanied throughout by hot drinks, mince pies and festive tunes to get us into the Christmas mood. Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change, and we want to be as fair and flexible as possible. You’re welcome to cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund. After the 14-day window, cancellations made more than 7 days before your class can be refunded at 50% of the booking fee. Cancellations made within 7 days of the class are non-refundable, as it becomes difficult to fill the space at short notice. (Please note: If you book a class within 7 days of its start date, this non-refundable period still applies, even if you are within the 14-day booking window.) If you can no longer attend, you’re very welcome to pass your place on to someone else at no extra cost—just let us know who will be coming in your place. Should The Sewing Table need to cancel a class for any reason, you will, of course, receive a full refund for that session.
