Service Description
I love to teach techniques in isolation - it’s a great way to build confidence and master a process before going ahead and applying it to a garment project. Making samples in calico means that we can clearly illustrate each technique with a stable fabric which is then a helpful sample to keep for future reference. This one day workshop is designed as a follow on from the Intro to Sewing Machines class, and will help to build your skills and your confidence at your machine. We will cover: 🪡 Perfect darts, pleats and gathering 🪡 Double turned hems 🪡 Seam finishing: Zig-Zag, pinked, top-stitched, french, flat fell 🪡 Smooth curves and sharp corners 🪡 Different stitch functions and presser feet Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided to keep us all going, and there will be an hour break for lunch when you can pop into Peebles high street, just a 5 minute walk away from the studio.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change, and we want to be as fair and flexible as possible. You’re welcome to cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund. After the 14-day window, cancellations made more than 7 days before your class can be refunded at 50% of the booking fee. Cancellations made within 7 days of the class are non-refundable, as it becomes difficult to fill the space at short notice. (Please note: If you book a class within 7 days of its start date, this non-refundable period still applies, even if you are within the 14-day booking window.) If you can no longer attend, you’re very welcome to pass your place on to someone else at no extra cost—just let us know who will be coming in your place. Should The Sewing Table need to cancel a class for any reason, you will, of course, receive a full refund for that session.
